This sci-fi, technological wallpaper places heavy emphasis on perspective. A detailed play of light and shadow is the center focus as the center is underscored with a subtle lens effect. At a closer look, one can notice a certain decomposition of regular structure represented by identically textured flat blocks leaving the ground level in various states of disarray. The only notion of life is the orange escape pod (or perhaps an alien mechanism) rising along with the debris. Maybe it’s being picked up by a mothership that’s illuminating the landscape? Maybe the whole concept is an abstraction on geometric shapes, light and shadow (as well as contrast)?
One way or another, the geometry and the layout takes a while getting used to. Quite creatively, the orange centerpiece is not actually in the foreground since it is implied there are pieces rising far above it, furthermore no measure for scale is given. In more than one way, the wallpaper’s apparent simplicity reveals a more lucid design. The Black and Gold 4K wallpaper is intended for an audience willing to spend a little longer to appreciate what they get.
